What years and different color/graphics combinations did the special edition or limited edition Yamaha 225's come in? Where they DX's or DR's? Just curious and I can't get the old 3ww website to bring up any old Yamaha ads to help. Anyone have any pics?

I tried looking to those too.
The honda ads help, but I couldn't find anything on the yama's either.

I have an 84 225dx that is black and gold. Was told that it was a special edition.

I'm also curious about this, what year did Yamaha add the reverse option, or was there a reverse every year?

As far as I know, there are no limited editions.

I do know for a fact of one model that is a special edition. It is the 1986 ytm225DRS option in black and red. I guess I would assume that the red and black is the DR special and the gold and black is the dx special. Not 100% sure on the gold and black being a special edition or not. My opinion is that the sky blue is the rarest to this day. I can still get nos plastics for the yellow and black wheelers. The sky blue stuff is all gone.

The reverse option was only offered in two years. The 1985 YTM225DRN and the 1986 YTM225DRS.
