Well just did a little shake down around the yard to make sure all was in order before my little jaunt out to Easton MX, in maryland tomorrow. Nothing too exciting or special, just fooling around on the Orange Crush 500.

Enjoy!

Looks like it has some serious power. Would it be any fun trail riding a 500?

After seeing this video, I just picture that same ride on 70s! I have never forgotten about you talking a 70s ride.

Pat, definitlely gota do a 70 get together. I can imagine about 20-30 70s in my front yard. lol We'll make it happen someday for sure.

Steve, yah the neighbors are cool although I went out of my way a little to make sure they are. I talk John deers with the one old man regular, the one guy has a 4x4 Honda quad, and the one nosey troublesome neighbor we have, I rebuilt the carb on his scooter the 2nd day we moved in. Needless to say, other than watching me like a hawk (he's that kinda neighbor, always seeing everyone else s business) he's pretty cool, he just thinks me rebuilding that carb was a best thing ever. I rip wheelies on my xr down the drive pretty regular. They all wave. Very lucky for sure.

As far as power, 1st and 2nd gear about all i can use in the area before i'm outa room. I get into 3rd once in a while but it's kinda pointless. lol. Drinking coffee before I head out to easton now probably on only a few more minutes.

I do trail ride this machine. It's not too bad, and as far as fun, I promise you riding a 500 is always fun. lol Just can wear you out fast.

At 5:20 in the first vid it seems you are in gear yet stationary though it doesn't stall. Why is that?

Rekluse semi auto clutch.

In the vids, alot of the low rpm grunting when i'm moving slow is from using the auto clutch to start in 3rd. Most of the time my stratagey in riding the thing is to put it in 3rd and then just keep it happy with rpm.

I have had several different length swingarms on it. I honestly prefer sacrificing a hard launch for better steering and maneuvering. Trust me, I've been through a million variations with this bike. It's perfect right now, I consider it done, no more modifications planned. just maintenance.
