My nephew has a SunL 50cc dirtbike. I'm wondering if anyone knows how difficult it would be to put that engine in an atc70. There is one for sale in my area I could get for $150 not running, looks good (plastics), seat ripped up. My nephew like my atc200 and would like to throw this together for him if possible??

all depends on your mechanical ability, you can make anything work if you really want too. another option is buying a Lifan crate engine on ebay that are suppose to bolt in, you can get one for around 300$ to your door

from what i hear the lifans don't exactly bolt in, but only need slight modding to work (narrow the motor mounts or widen the frame a touch). after checking some pics, it's looks like the sunl 50 should work, but that elec starter and carb is what would concern me. it'd be a tight fit to say the least IMO. 50cc's is a bit small, but should pull him around ok i think. i'd wait to see if anyone else chimes in for more input about it though. :beer

Thanks guys if the SunL 50 will work for awhile that's all I'm looking for, for now he's about 65lbs and the 70 motor could probly be brought back to life and then put the 50 back in the dirtbike?? Please more input on the 50 I don't want to buy a motor for it yet just want to get it going. Then see about the 70 motor or another motor down the road.
