i have a 84 t3 and i want to know when there is no pressure on the clutch is the clutch lever on the engine pointing directly facing the opposite side of the engine? in the diagram of the motor is says that there is a steel ball that goes in the motor on the clutch push rod, when i rebuilt the engine there was no ball there. also with a new stator and flywheel comming from ricky's , can i run a regular 55w 12 vdc light from the factory light wires?? i got this bike as a little bit of a mess and just finished rebuilding the whole darn thing "looks pretty good except for the 8 inch extension on the swing, tires are not even near the rear fenders".

yes, it is supposedto point at the case....you need to order that little ball or find one that will work, or it will wear your clutch arm out

i got a ball to fit but when i reassemble the engine the lever is pointing towards the rear brake reservior, and with the cable loosined up it barely reaches the lever.
I had the same trouble w/ my 87 T3. Did you get a cluch holder tool, or try to put the basket back on w/ it in gear, or try the penny trick? If the motor is in gear I could not get the basket to sit all the way down, even a small amount will be felt all the way in the lever. Pull the basket and make sure the spacers are rite and the basket is seated.
GOOD LUCK

no prolbems getting the basket back on in neutral but with the ball in the clutch arm at the engine is facing towards the rear brake res. ,and the clutch is pretty tight even with the cable adjustments loosened up all the way. well once i get my parts from ricky's ill have to try i and see what happenes.
