Hey guys I'm going to buy a stroker crank from powrolll for my 85 200x is there anything I should be aware of ? Is it gonna really amp up my 200x torque? Any one have one that would like to comment and tell me how you like it? Thanks

Its a great piece of hardware. You wont regret it. Just plug and play. If you want more go ahead andget the 10:5 piston set up and torque cam and you can still run pump gas! Good choice!

Thanks for the feedback ! How hard is it to put in ? I need to split the cases right so that will be a chore!

Also will it be reliable?

Anything Powroll is reliable in my book. I have used their parts in most of my 200x's and never had a problem. Yes, you will need to split the cases. Buy a good manual if you don't already have one and read it a couple times before you attempt. You will have time regardless. Turn-around on your crank is 3-4 months. I assume you have already pulled yours to send off?

That's my goal for tomorrow. Is to pull the old one to send out any advice other then reading the manual and being very careful haha

Well, I always zip lock baggies to keep my parts together. Make sure you have a rotor puller and the special socket to remove the oil rotor and clutch. Other than that have pb blaster handy, always have patience and take your time! Also buy a new Versah complete gasket kit.

Also, if you are doing the stroker, you will want to consider a good cam

i flipped mine so the flywheel points up. i think you have to thats the way everything sits in there.

if anyone splits the cases MAKE sure you buy a new 2nd production kicker spring, and some back cut gears so you will never have kicker issues agian.

I also forgot to add. Buy a case splitter! Do not stick screw drivers in between to pry the cases open. I bought mine from rocky mountain atv. The tusk case splitter. It will save time, and you wont have an oil leak later from screwdriver gouges. As Yamaha driver said above split the cases with the flywheel up. Lastly, the flywheel is keyed to the crank. Don't worry about timing until you get the top end back on. Once you set the cam in (lobes down) and the head is back on, you place the cam gear/chain on and rotate the flywheel until your marks line up through the hole on the flywheel cover. All of the timing info is in the manual, make sure you read up on it, but like I said, as long as you line the rotor back up on the keyway you are good to go on the bottom end. Also, I agree, if you are that far onto the cases, you would benefit with all new kicker springs and back-cutting the kicker gear teeth. Take a look at my build on 3wheeler.org in the "build up" forum.

IMO I dont think you need a case splitter. Just get a beadblow hammer and it should break free really easily (did for both X cases I split). Never put any screwdriver or pry bar between aluminium cases! If it really doesn't want to move you better get a case splitter.

Once cases are split, watch for every shims and thrust washers. Some will stay on the shaft and some will stick with the oil on the cases. Just make sure you dont forget any when reassembling.

Other than that, its a pretty easy job, just take some time and patience. Don't hesitate to ask questions.
These 2 cases were my 1st time splitting also.
Good luck and make sure you get a manual (free on this site)
