what are your opinions of flat side or round slide carburetors

I think the flat slide carbs seem to be technologically more advanced, if that makes any sense.

In my opinion a flat slide carb. is less likely to give you problems as well as better air flow and throttle response.

The "theory" behind the flatslide is that the air flow will have the same path-distance past the slide at all spots in the carb and at all throttle positions...with the round slide, airflow travels farther to get past the slide at the top and bottom than it does at the sides. That's the "theory"...whether or not it really makes much of a difference is debateable.

i will probably buy a mikuni 28mm or 30mm flat slide carburetor any body else do this if so what problems did you have

I run a 28mm mikuni flatslide on my 84 200x and the throttle responce is very good .

did you run in to any problems mounting it with the size difference
what kind of filter or muffler are you running

The carb is tight and with a little notching of the frame at the shock mount it fits LOL . The pics should answer the rest of your questions .

yes that is a little tight thank you for the pictures they will help the 200m has no shock so i wont have that problem
