View Full Version : Tri Z Carb Issues - Stuck Slide?

I thought I'd try to get my Tri Z "project" running, I knew that the throttle was stuck and thought/hoping that it may have been just a sticky cable.

Pulling the air box off of it and finding the air filter made into one heck of a mouse nest....or I should really say "mouse condo complex!", I realized this wasn't going to be as simple as I had hoped......I unscrewed the slide from the top of the carb to pull the carb off and can't get the slide out of the carb. The carb looks as dirty as can be and the slide seems to be stuck inside the carb.

Any tips for freeing it up? (I've been soaking it in PB Blaster) What else should I be looking for?

soak it,,, i auctaly heated mine up once with a propane torch it loosens the varnish and also expands the outside of the carb a little since its hot usualy comes out

Thanks, I'll keep soaking it in PB Blaster unless you'd recommend something else to soak it in? I'm glad at least to realize I'm not the only one that has run into this!
