Just installed new crank seals in my 85 250R got it all back together but it is very hard to start and when it does start it wont rev up just kinda bogs then dies. Also when I'm kicking it over it has a loud backfire coming out of the exhaust. What have I done wrong? It's got a spark, compression, and fuel. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Too much fuel getting into the cylinder? No timing on a 2 stroke. My guess is make sure there is not too much fuel getting in. Your reed cage installed?

rag stuck in the intake side to keep out the dirt and forgotten. (don't ask how I know).

It was a sheared fly wheel key.
Popped a new one in and she fired right up one kick.
Smokes a little more than it should and it won't idle (hope there is no issues with my new crank seals)...
