Guess this last snow storm pushed a few of us over the edge.

I've heard that AZ has some cheap real estate these days.
Like payments of a couple hundred a month.

A place to lock up some trikes and places to ride.
Get one of those shipping containers from a cargo ship for the toys,
and rent the place in the summer for almost free to a good caretaker.

Is winkleman a real place?

Also not opposed to ocean beaches but can't imagine California expensive and traffic and more traffic.
Mexico would be perfect but people say it's pretty scary lately.
especially since the US medical laws changed to make everyone SAFER!

Thinking to head south before the shortest day of the year in December and come back
north, end of March.

North Florida?
Belize, Uraguay?

Some of our members love Australia.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

We have had a very warm winter down here. But I highly doubt you would want to have a place down in alabama.

az isnt too bad its been a fairly warm winter with our coldest month being november its basically been steady 60's for the past few monthes and startin to get up in the 70's now. im in the high desert in northern az kingman to be exact and its always warmer down in the pheonix area but theres a ton of blm in kingman to ride so you can travel a lot ground without covering the same path twice.

do you have a profession that allows you to spend months away from your 'home'? or are you looking to make a permanent move? I would honestly move to AZ if I could, just because its nice year round and has adccess to awesome dunes.

Just a farm with a few 'renters' that help keep the place and I really don't have to be here.
It gets dark around 4pm in the winter, daylight comes around 7am and some days you can't tell
if it's morning or afternoon because of the coastal overcast.

I have friends that say 2500 feet in AZ is a good place to start
but I'm gonna look into Kingman area thanks to rjs.

Mexico used to the the ultimate choice and Costa Rica was also in the top of the list.
Actually, Costa Rica has the highest number of ex pats or retired USA citizens
of any 'foreign' country so something has to be good about it...except for the prices have skyrocketed for obvious reasons. and not real easy to drive to. Kinda at the mercy of airlines and passports.
Most people say it's easy to go places but not always easy to get home.

What is STL?

Rarely do we get below freezing, and for the majority of March it's been 70-80 out.
