so tinkering on this old bike i have been having a hard time with. so i took off exhaust pipe/cables/carb/reeds and checked everything out. bought some new points and condensor and a throttle cable. put the points and stuff in and it has spark!!! nice blue spark. this is with only 1 wire from the stator going to the coil. so i ordered up a wire harrness i finnaly found of ebay and recieved it yesterday plan on putting that on this weekend. but i found out when i was cleaning the carb im missin the choke plunger. and also there is a crack in the bowl behind the float. so i plan on fixing that with some jb weld puddy stuff. Also noticed when i turn the twist throttle its easy to turn but does'nt go back to standard position. where ever you leave the throttle is where it stays. what would make it do that?

Try lubing your throttle cable; if that doesn't work, get a new one. Oh yeah, make sure the throttle tube turns easily on the handlebar. Graphite lube wouldn't hurt.
