I was just given a 79 atc 110 and it leaks oil around the sprocket on the engine for the chain when running. I pulled the left side apart and there is a chunk of the case missing, like the chain hit it and broke the case. So I popped the head and jug off, tore the right side apart, and split the case. Well now I can't get the transmission gears nor the cylinder with the shift forks on it out. How do I do that?

Also the clutch basket where the springs are has a tab broken offand I found a spring in the bottom of the case, and it's missing the pin that holds the shaft in place in the sub transmission. Not bad for free I guess.

Here is a picture of the missing chunk

I've been told to build it up with JB weld and file it flush and to build it up with aluminum filler rod by brazing it in. I think I'm just going to get a new case.

That gear indicator shaft in your pic is threaded so put a cresent on it and it will loosen the drum up so you can get the tranny apart . The broken post on the clutch means it needs a new one

I'm tired a the philips head machine screws that bolt the cases together so I got some inverted hex head bolts. Is there a torque spec for the cases or just tight, but not so tight it cracks the case?
