I want to trade my blaster, and it looks like I might have to ship it. My question is how do you accomplish this, how do you know you are getting what the person says, and not only that, but that they will actually ship their bike. Is there some kind of insuarance you get, or is it a leap of faith? How much would it cost to ship a blaster?

I personally haven't done a cross-country trade yet. To day the biggest machine I have shipped was a TriZinger to smokinwrench.
I can try to help with some info and ideas here but I would need to know a lot of the information. What type / or models of machines are we talking? From where to where? ect. If you want to keep the "Trade" private I can understand. We can talk privately via email or such and then make a generalatization post on how to do the deal for everyone here. ;)
Thanks
Howdy

Yep, I just did one. I traded my 85 TriZ for the Tiger. I didnt ship it though, I went and picked it up. Drove from TX to Florida. I guess you have to just extend a certain level of trust. See if the guy is willing to meet you somewhere. If the guy sends you pics and gives you his home address, ph#, etc you can feel a little better. just my 2 cents.

Driving is out of the question, he lives in california, and I live in Pennsylvania. He said something about pink slips but that only covers title transfer doesnt it?
I recently used http://www.freightcenter.com
they were able to ship a trike for $215 from Michigan to Utah.
That might be the cheapest way to ship them...
Try to find someone in california on this board that lives near the guy, maybe they can help out in someway, checking out the T3 your looking at, picking it up, helping you get it to a shipper, anything just so you know you aren't getting screwed by the guy.
