can the bike have spark without a key ignition switch? from what i here if you on plug wireing harness from the the dash panel you will get spark is this rite???

I think that you need the ignition switch in order to get the spark, but without looking at it it's hard to tell.

No matter what, it has to be possible to override the key ignition. How are you with electronics work?

Key switch simply allows the starter to run IF the neutral safe switch is
happy and it's in neutral. and it kills the engine by grounding something, maybe the cdi.

If you unplug the ignition switch,
it should throw spark with the pull starter.

try the search key for 200es no spark.

9 chances out of 10 it is your black CDI box or whatever it is called. The 1984 Big Reds are know for them to go bad.

Its an open circuit I believe ,so unpluging the ignition should give you spark if you don't have the key.Ran my quad like this
