I just rebuilt the motor on my 1986 Honda 200x. I put a webs cam, 10 /1/2 to one wiesco piston, new crankshaft, etc etc. The trike starts fine but wont idle it just dies. The air screw make no differece when you turn in it and out. The carb is a fairly new honda unit and I took it apart and cleaned put a different piolet jet in and it still died. I even put the old carb on and it made no difference still died. I sprayed carb cleaner around the boot and base of cylinder and found no noticable jump in engine rpm. I also put a new hond stator on the trike. Any thoughts I am cluless. Did I get the cam chain off a tooth? Thanks in advance Glenn Oister

Maybe a faulty choke? Did you check the retainer clip to see if it's in the right spot?

The web cam was on size bigger then stock, I did put bigger main jet, and piolet jet in the carb. I tried the stock carb and with both carbs it dies when you let off the gas. When you adjust the air idle screw it makes no difference at all. It does not change the way the motor runs still dies. I guess I ll check electronics next I am still cluesless. Glenn O.

The 4 stroke carb doesn't have a air idle screw it has a fuel screw. Turn it out to richen turn it in to lean. There's another screw that controls the height of the slide in the carb. Tighten it to raise the idle rpm. If this is not it you missed something in your rebuild and you are going to have to recheck everything to find it.
