Finally got a complete day to do nothing but work on some trikes and take some pics of inventory! 10 hours of nothing but dirty, oily pleasure ;) gigity!

So anyways, I popped that Suzuki lt250 out of my '85 frame and I was trying to just slap my 84 motor straight in (because I've been told its a direct swap.) HOWEVER, upon further inspection it seems like the bottom engine mount was moved slightly up to accommodate the Suzuki motor.... Now the question is should I just chop the modified lower mounts and just bolt up the other two engine mounts with the swinger/motor bolt mount? Shouldn't be a problem right?

Even with this little prob today was awesome!

The first picture is with the swinger bolt in and shows the lower mount being offset from the motor.

The second picture is with the lower motor mount in but shows the swinger/motor/mount positions offset of eachother.

Third picture shows to be what I think was a home-job reposition of the lower engine mount. The welds don't look clean enough to be factory imo.

5th= inventory :)

Don't you have another frame to use? Tear it apart, grease everything and replace with the good parts on one of the other frames.. Hell paint it while you have it apart.. I saw some super shiny silver paint you were using.. lol

The only thing that would make me hesitant about switching frames is that I actually have a pink for this particular one >,<

I would cut the off and reposition them. If they get messed up cutting them off you could use 1/4 black pipe to replace them. I bought an 84 last year that was missing the bolt through that mount,from the motor trying to torque back it started to wear out the front and top mounts.

Yea I'm thinkin that's my best bet then. Cut 'em and reweld 'em.
