Can it achieve honorary Three Wheeler status? They disappeared in the same year, use the same tires and have a lot of the same parts. It's the 2/3 of a wheeler.

Sorry about all of the silly snowmachines. They're a fact of life up here.

I for one believe the Yamaha Big Wheel/Honda Fat Cat belong on in the '3wheeler' category..

Since I have bought/owned/sold just about every 3 wheeler (not polaris or kawasaki..just a choice, sorry guys) my next thing on the "machines to own" list are one of these two elusive animals.

That and a Yeti snow kit!!

I have a BW80. Not near the power as the 200's and 350's, but still very cool.

Come home safe Hollywood!!!

Man! You keep posting those cool vids and as far as I'm concerned you can call your pogo stick a three wheeler and I won't argue. In this case let’s just think of your BW as a 3 wheel amputee.:beer

I vote his thread gets moved to trikesylvania................... Amazing videos.

Bigwheels and fatcats belong in the 3 wheeler category.

Thanx for sharing!! You guys always put a huge smile on my face!! It's MUCH easier to learn carving on an older sled! Those new Doos are very unforgiving for that. Stay safe over there H6llyw66d ! And thanx for your service.

It dawned on me a few minutes after watching the video and has been bothering me since. Dude, PLEASE put my mind at ease and tell me that Hollywood is NOT an Air Force mechanic!!!

Cool Vid.I could be wrong but I think yamaha was the only company to "experiment" with different machines back in the 80's. Tri-Z(airbox/gas tank switcharoo) the BigWheel series(I know honda had the fatcat and the cub),maybe the first monoshock, the sno scoots, and thier ss440 snowmobile was a few yrs ahead of its time.Wish I still had my 1980 ss440.Yamaha made some nice jetski's in the 80's too but i think they were competing with kawasaki. 80's=Best darn decade ever! :)
....also the banshee was the only 2 cyl race quad ever produced, although sometimes I feel the 250r was still a bit better. Raptor 660 started a whole new race of quads too.

Thanks for watching everyone.

El Camexican,

I'm not certain how reassuring this is going to be:

Hollywood is not allowed to touch a wrench, screwdriver or even look at a toolbox when he is in the field.

However, they do let him fly the planes.

No, I was definitely talking about a Scoot. I've ridden them before and they're an absolute blast!

They do wheelies!

Seems whoever wrote the Air force’s aptitude test deserves some credit! Seriously, I hope you’re proud to have a friend that serves. I hope he comes back save and sound so you can make more videos of him roadside wrenching.:beer

Thanks for watching guys.

Thanks to this thread, now I'm hunting for a Sno Scoot. That's exactly what I need: Another vintage machine to maintain.

Although, it is pretty hard to argue with their merits. Thanks a lot!

Big Wheels are a blast, especially in a group. My main ride is my '85 ATC250R, but I also own a '85 BW200. In our group, in addition to many different bikes, trikes, & quads, we have about 5 or 6 BW's in camp, so occasionally, we all go out for a BW ride in the dunes! While they are slow (compared to my 250R), when you are in a group of nothing but BW's, it's "game on", and the play-racing is just as intense as anything else!

4x4van,

Thanks for watching. I just got back from a trip to Moab where we were riding KTMs. Every sand dune made me think about riding a BW instead. They would be a handful in the rock ledges though.

640AK, nice pic! Brings back memories of racing in the SoCal deserts back in the late 70's/early 80's (I was riding a '79 YZ250 then).

Believe it or not, I rode the Moab Slickrock bike trails the very first or second year that they were opened up for off-roading, I believe it was back in about 1971 or 72 (give or take a couple of years), during a week-long family vacation though the canyonlands of Utah & Arizona with the dirt bikes. Slickrock was initially developed specifically for motorcycles, although it is now more associated with mountain bikes. I was on a 1969 Yamaha Mini-Enduro at the time! It was brutal for that small of bike, not to mention that "prehistoric" technology and the fact that I was only about 10!

Nice video! I have a BW80 that I'm restoring for my son, and just picked up a real clean Honda Cub. I'm wondering how that would do in the snow :)

sounds like you might want to check out a Honda EZ-Snow, basicly a cub w/ski and trac. :beer
