My family and I (MilitaryFamily) were relocating from Washington state to Georgia, and stopped for the evening in Shiloh, Ill. at the Holiday Inn Express. Our 2002 Dodge Durango, 2006 PJ-8312 black utility trailer (With Diamond Plate Fenders and removable side loading ramps only.... NO rear loading ramp), a 1986 ATC KXT Kawasaki 250, a 1985 Honda ATC 250r, a 2004 Honda TRX 250ex, a 1984 Honda ATC 70, a 1986 Honda TRX 70, and a 2004 KTM Jr Adventure 50 were stolen from us. Below are some picture of what the trailer and bike look like. Our Durango was recovered, but the other items are left still missing, as well as other personal items from inside our Durango. A $500.00 REWARD will be given to the individual who is responsible for the recoverey of our items and the arrest of the individuals responsible for theft of our families items. Please call with any information.
Thank you,
Kevin

So sorry to hear about your loss man, my fingers and toes are crossed that they find the bastards! I will keep my eye on CList around here to see if anything pops up fitting the descriptions and pictures of your machines. Do you have a list of VIN #s on the machines in case someone finds one of them for sale or something?
That is horrible.
I hope the best for your family getting your things back.
What date did the theft occur? How did they bypass the factory theft system on the Durango? Or did it not have that option.

I have some of the vin# ....... and No..... the military always tells you that when you move to take all of your important stuff with you and to not let the movers take the stuff as the chances of them getting stolen by the movers would be higher..... Well we had an extra set of keys in the durango in the center glove compartment (out of sight)......they busted a window, and then just drove it off!! ANYONE in Missouri or Illinois Please keep a watch full eye!!!

that sucks sorry man. guys, when your moving stuff and gonna came away from home, always have your stuff in an enclosed trailer not an open one. it's an invitation to theives to steal your stuff. when we moved to cali from dallas, i put my stiff in the 26ft moving truck first then loaded the home stuff to hide it. it's the best way to do it.

Watch eBay for parts to show up. Any identifying marks, scratches, burn holes, overspray, etc. on any of the plastics or other parts that we might be able to see in an eBay/Craigslist picture?? that would help!
Keep eyes peeled. That's a serious collection to lose. Major bummer man

I live in near Metropolis IL "SO IL" and Shiloh IL is about 150 miles from me, close enough that I will keep an eye out . Hope you recover it and for encouragement alot of time these bikes get recovered. Also it being there were several bikes were stolen that increases the odds that one will pop up. Someone will slip , I will keep an eye on craigslist /ebay etc.

the military always tells you that when you move to take all of your important stuff with you and to not let the movers take the stuff as the chances of them getting stolen by the movers would be higher
This is what started this whole nightmare for you. Company employees can't even be trusted to keep their hot hands off other people's stuff when it's their JOB to take care of it. Sad...

Hope you find them man, they look like nice trikes etc. We had moved away from our old house not that long ago, and we had left a few things there that we planned to go get. So when we went back there the stuff was all gone, we were also getting our mail stolen too. So after awhile we saw the stuff on ebay and we ended up getting a few grand worth of my moms dolls back, and we caught the thief. So don't give up, it took us about 6 months or more to find our things.

Sorry to hear about these kinds of things... but I can relate about the movers. I too am active duty and luckly havent had to deal with a military move, but have heard many nightmares about things "coming up missing". I would have done the same as you (taking them with me) and then for something like this to happen is just unreal. Hopefully the local law enforcement there is willing to do what they can to actually investigate... like what was mentioned before hopefully the hotel has some video footage, or maybe they can get some prints off your vehicle, i mean thay had to touch a bunch of things to disconnect a trailer etc.
On a side note for everyone else I always lock my trailer to my truck with the reciever locks and chain my bikes to the trailer, its a crazy worlds now a days, and you have to take EVERY precaution. Granted if someone REALLY wants it bad enough they will still get it, but hopefully thse things will act as a deterent or at least slow them down a bit. Always a good idea to keep a record of all vin numbers both frame and engine, as well as current pics with date stamps and some with you in the pic for insurance purposes.
I am also a member on some antique tractor forums (restore farm tractors etc) and you wouldnt believe the amount of stories about people having tractors stolen from their properties to be turned in as scrap!!! Its not only unfortunite that these items get stolen, but then turned in to be melted down kills me. Old iron is hard enough to find as it is to preserve for our future. I'm affraid to leave my garage door open when I go in to use the bathroom!!!
Sorry for the tangent, just pissees me off how people can have the gall to do this kind of thing. I hope you get your bikes back and the offenders do some time!!!! Keep your head up, think possitive and dont give up!!!

They probably keep flagging it.
Don't even mention it; Just type what you would like, play stupid "would this be big enough for my son??", " I'm a dirtbike ride, not sure if I want that or a quad, what do you all have??", "you guys think I could make the switch?" "I got some $$ from my taxes and want to make the right choice".

Hope you find your stuff!! Theives suck.. I had some stuff stolen from me way back and it still angers me to this day!!! How far away and in what direction did they drop your truck and switch vehicles or what not. If your truck was found not too far away maybe they doubled backed the opposite direction to throw people off. Check gas stations for 100 miles in each direction for survalence cameras of your trailer or vehicles such as vans which they could have switched..maybe they can see someone getting gas looking nervous plus if their theives they are bums and would need to gas up...Contact all the salvage yards as faraway as possible these guys hang with alot of crooked scrap hunters and would easily rat one of their own out for 500$ I had stuff from my back yard stolen 2 weeks ago by scrappers in broad daylight!!!Justa few ideas...Good luck and catch these bums!!!

Were any other vehicles at the hotel broke into?Is it possible it was someone who knew there was a spare key in the console? It just seems to me that it would have to be one hell of a coincidence to break into one vehicle that happens to have a spare key in it and a trailer full of toys hooked to it.

Well lets think like a crook here.... You see a vehicle from the other side of the country (Washington State plates)......Stuffed full of kids..... in the back window you see lots of bags/blankets....etc.........you see the kids have dvd players they are watching....... a map in the front window (Thats where the wife kept putting it)......... a trailer full of bikes that you can't live without...... YEP, That's the car they are going to break into......and No I didn't have my extra keys out in the open..... they were locked in the center console....but because it was locked that is the one they decided to rip open.... Tada!!! Extra keys lets just drive the whole thing off...... Yes I have played it back in my head thousands of times, and it wasn't the smartest thing to do...is there things we could have done differently....YES, there always is on the hind sight...... BUT My family is healthly and we are all o.k...... So now the only thing to do is to not sob about the past, but catch these low lifes that did it...... there was no other vehicles broken into as this was a pretty decent area..... this was quick and to the point as they knew what they wanted......AND they got it!!! Please.... I just ask that everyone keeps an eye out and helps me find my bikes, trailer, etc..... and I will ensure these guys get put away for many, many years!!!

I wish you luck man, I had four bikes stolen from my garage the end of March, without any help from the cops I've got two of them back (one trashed (ATK) and one nearly the same as it left (KX80)) I used craigslist and finally got one of the dirt bags friends to try and collect the reward money (got him on tape) he tried to play the pay me to testify upfront, then he made a threat or two so I took his little list of names and went public with it: first on craigslist then sending the links to his buddys that I could find on Facebook then here :
http://www.facebook.com/StolenMotorcycleRecoveryEffort
I know your situation is a bit different (out of town) but don't give up you may eventually press the right buttons and get at least some of your stuff back, its pretty hard for the police to do anything unless they catch them red handed so you have to get creative and make the dirt bags sweat like the vermin they are....
That and I painted the address of the St. Valentines Day Massacre on the side of my garage as a deterrent... (Yea, I know there too stupid to know what it means but it makes me feel better....)
wow this whole theft thing sucks guys! i wish you all the best of luck with your recovery. it makes me glad i live in the sticks where everyone has a shotgun and no one would dream of trying to take someones wheeler.

It is going to be very hard to find them. I havent read this whole thread yet, so maybe this has been mentioned. Best bet is to get the vin #s to the authorities, and if these guys are caught riding them anywhere, the first things the police will do is run the vin. If someone sells it down the road, and someone wants to go register it, the vin will come up stolen, and then you can track it back to who sold it.
Also. Keep up with nation wide craigslist searches. Usually thiefs will hold onto bikes for awhile, and then all of a sudden they will think no one is looking for them anymore, and sell em like nothing happened. Or, if they sell it to someone, and that person winds up selling it. Keep at it. Dont let these assholes get away with this. It makes me sick. You work hard for what you have. Not just that. You give your life to serving our country, and this is how you are repaid.
I will keep my eyes out. An 86 Tecate isnt something that goes un-noticed. It will show up. I wouldnt take a reward. Just a ride on that Tecate would be reward enough for me.
just looked in tucson, show low, san diego, phoenix, prescott, yuma, seirra vista and LA didnt find nothing buddy but i will keep an eye out for you
