Can anyone see the special parts in these three pics? I believe i've spotted three things that validate the cost.
Of course they all need to be cleaned but none the less some old school pricey and rare things.

Roller cam
Looks like a modded tank and 83-84 250r fenders and seat?

Well, the axle on the one with the tank certainly looks wider to me.. I think the tank is a short track tank, a metal old school one. And i thought the cam in the box was a megacycle cam, but the cam cover does not appear to be the one that comes with that cam. It defiantly looks like a pretty large cam though judging by the small angle of the lobes.
And the shock on the right one? Is it white? These are the only pics I have so what you see is what i know.. the guy knows nothing besides they are 200x's.

Tank looks stock but has the shrouds removed , cam looks stockish to me and the axle on the bike with the 83 250r rear fenders does look wider but it could have offset hubs and wheels also .
Need better pics !!!!

The axle does look aftermarket as there is no taper in the shaft. The cam looks aftermarket also because of the machined section next to the lobes. I'd be wary that the bush is not heat welded to it though. Looks like its been hot.
I can also see a Cowsay.

My two cents. The axle looks like a stocker to me, don't know about the cam. The tank is stock with the shrouds removed. However, do I spy low-pro fenders? See the squares on the back for the numbers. Funny though because I didn't think the front of the fenders swooped that low next to the foot pegs.
Agree that we need better pics.

axle is longer on other one it looks unless hes using spacers and 400ex hubs. tanks dif, plastics prob by the pics, 883-84 250r fenders and seats.
just looks like a pile of beat 200x parts with some mis matched plastics

I noticed it because he claimed the aftermarket axle. That was the only thing the guy knew for sure. No spacers or hubs, I noticed the lack of a taper like the stock axle immediately.
What is Cosway?
The pics on my computer are a bit larger then it shows here. The front of the tank appears to have smooth side where the shrouds would mount.
He is supposed to send me better pics today of the specific stuff I am interested in. I will ask him how freely the bushing rotates on the cam, and look for discoloration.
I also needed a good 200x seat foam and all of the brake set ups. Also wanted to go back to thumb throttle.

Lol that was the second offer in a hour! If the tank ends up being modified I am going to go through with this fella. I'm paying his asking price for everything for the items I am wanting and I think he is going to scrap the rest. I also plan on getting a seat made with my logo on it, or an acronym for the business name, so if possible I don't want to ruin a perfectly good oem seat.
Thanks for the offer!
Seriously, what the heck is Cosway? I searched.. Could not find anything.

Probably a typo. He may have meant to type cobra or Coffman....something with a "c"...;)

I thought that was a possibility, but when i search it there is three other threads he posted the word Cosway in, but its always like "looks like a cosway" or something like that lol, can't find anything with any bit of a description.
Spoke to the fella, should receive better pics tonight or tomorrow.

Actually I take back my last post, spell it "cowsay" and you will see he says it a few times in other posts. Still don't know what he is referring to.

Here are some photos. Is that a curtis sparks pipe? It has a one piece header and the taper down from the silencer is one piece, not two welded together.
And any info on what kind of axle this is?
Thanks guys

And I don't see a resi on that shock.. aftermarket or cheap replacement?
Also I am going to ask for a pic of the hubs without the tires on to make sure they are just rusty and no welding has been done.

The pipe looks like a DG RCM without the end cap and the axle looks like an early Durablue with the welded sprocket hub. Sometimes early 250R Durablue axles were retro fitted to the 200X's as well.

The exhaust is definatly a Cobra . Rear axle looks like a Durablue off a 82 atc250r cant really see the sprocket hub to tell . Rear shock is not for a 200x and prob junk

What is the difference, or the give away it is a cobra? Removable baffle? Looks identical to the sparks pipe on your bike to me.
What is the dues blue axle worth as long as there is nothing wrong with it?
Thanks for all the info.

A Sparks pipe for one is a steel baffel and the cobra is alum . I have been around the block a few times and have pretty much seen it all  The Durablue is prob worth 200.00 or so .

I don't question anything you say Mike, Just wanted to know for my self :)
Very grateful for your input! Does a cobra perform as well as a sparks? The silencer seems to be shorter then the Cobra pipes I can find, so maybe it's a old school one? The head pipe also has a mounting bracket which the new pipes do not seem to have.
Man, this turned into a bummer. The guy want's 200 shipped for any of the things I want. Which includes full front and back complete brake set ups, and a new swinger since that was one of the things ruined in my crash.
I was t-boned by one of my 450's at 50+ MPH. As much as it sucks, I'm defiantly not complaining coming out with only a broken wrist.
The damages done to my atc were as pictured, and more. That head with the broken fins was a very old school(20+ years) ported and polished head. Which I can say from the Butt Dyno, was a very good job. Cam with a large cam and aftermarket springs and retainers. The break on the fly wheel cover goes about a 1/4 inch into the crank case. So that has to be replaced. Hopefully my ricky martin stator is not ruined.

Here is also a better pic of the axle. Can you tell if it is a finishline? I think the hub on my 200x has 5 or so mounting holes for the sprocket, i think this one only has three.

Its a older model cobra pipe and they were known for breaking at the mount . The axle is for a 82 250r and uses a 4 bolt sprocket , My guess is Durablue but their were several companies making axles back in the day , Finishline , Durablue , Maxtrax , Nasa .
The hub in the pic with 3 bolts it for the disc brake rotor .

Ahh okay I see the four bolt design now. I was informed all of this stuff was from 1985 or earlier. Should get this stuff next week, excited to get this build started.
Thanks again for all the info Mike, I appreciate it!

your axle is non adjustable. my 82 250r durablue is adjustable. either way its a R axle. id clean it up have it rechromed. your rear shock. no clue, its off somthing quad, blaster maybe? its not 300ex, 400ex 450r, but the inside piston covering is somthing new quad have been doing.
maybe ask the guy you got it off?
kasey200x
05-16-2012, 12:55 AM
I hope the axle is a finish line, which i do not believe is adjustable. I'm sure the shock at least needs a rebuild. But if I can find what it is off of that give me some better choices for rear suspension. I plan having about 11 inches of travel, so the length of this shock looks about what I need.
The guy knows nothing about these. He was supposed to ship everything today, so in a few day's I will be able to find out more info.

Got the stuff in today. Not as much usable stuff as I had hoped. Three clutch/pb perches but I imagine only one is usable. Can't even sale that because I am going to use it as my compression release lever.
The axle measures 39.5 end to end. My stock axle still had both disc's on it so my measurement on that may be off, but 33.5 inches? Thats a 6 plus.. Did they make these? More than likely my measuring was not right.
One NOS rear brake resi.
Some pretty awesome foot peg ad on's! These are old school.
And anyone know where the mid pipe is from? I think i'll keep it to use when I make my pipe. The i.d. is about 1.75 so pretty large for a 200x.
