Hi,

I have been thinking about trying to find a Calfab swing arm for my 85r, was just wondering what the going rate is for one as you don't often see them up for sale.
If they are like gold dust and normally go for thousands then I will stop my search right now! Haha

I have never seen one for sale so didn't have any idea what they go for. I guessed it would be around a grand based on what west coasts seem to sell for.

Thanks,
Nick.

I was checking out Ebay and came across this one. $1000, with no bearings.

Ain't gonna happen, it's a short arm w' a good amount of chain rash. To bring the tall $, needs to be the norm +2.

Hi,
My knowledge of these aftermarket goodies is practically zero, I take it this is not the most desirable swinger to have for the 85/86r??

146837146838146839146840Ive got a calfab for a 86 250r. Its a 18.5 inch c to c. I have a member interested in it now but if he backs out I will let you know if you are interested. My swingarm has no cracks and has a slight chain groove (95% of calfabs have this chain groove unless the swingarm was never installed). I aint asking a grand for it as it is not a +2.

Let me know

They are a good swingarm. But they arent the strongest. If you do any type of jumping then dont get one as it will crack on the bottem where the bearing carrier sits on those welds

Correct, but I havent seen a decent calfab no matter what length go for under $700. Short arms are desired by flat trackers

Hi, thanks for the info guys, I am looking to fit a short track tank kit, aftermarket swinger and a pair of H-Track 901's tomy otherwise stock 85 250r. I have no intention of using the bike, or if I do I certainly won't to throughout it off any monster jumps!
If I am going for a short track set-up, would the short Calfab be the best option??
Nick.

Great comment Steve and I second that statement! Just got my custom westcoast shock mount from Mike and it is a work of art. I would definitely call Mike at HRE and you will pay half of what that used CALFAB is going for.

Thanks guys, I have a couple of options now, both short Calfabs.
I'm also in the process of trying to close a deal on a 1st gen Calfab, it all gets too stressful! Haha

LOL........Nick, you're getting into dangerous territory now. The vintage aftermarket stuff is even more of an addiction than the bikes!!!! Trust me, don't do it..........I'm 10+ years in and counting..................It's a slippery slope and there's no going back LOL :) But it's worth it all the same....................Enjoy :beer
