I'll start off by saying that for my 110, this hasn't been a good day. This morning, I noticed my left rear tire was flat, and it now holds air for about 3 minutes. However, I filled it up anyway, since I had not put a shifter on it since I first drove it a few weeks ago (some idiot welded it to the parts motor). After removing the shifter, I got it attached to the trike, and everything was going well. However, It didn't stay like this for long. My newly rewound pull start decided that it didn't want a handle anymore around the time tire went flat and I managed to make it stall. So, I push started it and dropped it into low range, 2nd gear, around the time the shifter fell off because the bolt I used to put it on wasn't strong enough (need to replace shifter, it was damaged at one point and the opening is too big). So, here's where it got odd : all of that is fixable, but when I tried to move forward, it didn't do anything. Honestly, I think it will, but before I gave it enough gas, I started to hear a nice rattling noise on the left side and shut it off. I pushed it to the house, and it's still setting here. It has always smoked a lot, and was going to get a top end rebuild soon, but is it worth it? Should I find another motor? Is this something simple, or does anyone even have an idea of what this is?
Thank You

Well you seem frustrated so it was probably time to park it for the night. I'd start off with the easy stuff so you can look for your rattle. A plug in the tire or some slime and a little air should get that fixed. Then you could roll start it to hear it run to track down the rattle. Or you could rewind the pull started too, it's not that hard. However first off you mentioned burning oil? Did you check the level before riding?

Good luck tomorrows another day.

More than likely low range didn't engage.

It does burn oil, but it has oil in it. I'm slightly concerned about firing it up, should I be?

Ditto. Make sure your subtrans locked in. You may have to rock your machine to feel the positive click when it engages.

I solved it, combination of subtrans not being locked in and being between gears. Shifter falling off didn't really help.
