Ever just stare and admire your Restored/Custom Trike

I just finished detailing my '85 R with a fine tooth comb. Maybe every 4-5 months I totally strip my bike of all fenders, gas tank,headlight,and skid plates and give it a toothbrush washing. I have 5 different sponges and brushes that get in every spot. Blew it dry. Then polished the chrome and polished aluminum parts. My Billet Cascade Gas cap. Wiped gold Renthal chain clean. Totally clean. Then I sprayed my HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Motul Silicon Shine all over the plastic and polished them and reinstalled all plastic back after I checked the whole bike for any cracks or frayed wires or anthing wrong. I sprayed the Wet Jet tire silicon on the brand new Dunlopfactory original tires. Wiped WD-40 on the chrome. This thing isjust absolutly beautiful. And after 3 hours of drink ing a few coctails and the medication I get from my doctor from my accident and whatever else :shock: ;) I was sitting on my Chaftsman Rolling Work seat.(better that a milk crate) and I started to daze out and stare at how my 1985 Honda Atc 250 R was designed. Simplicity with function. Nothing unneccesary just pure business. How the Pro-Link suspension works. I just caught myself just rolling around the spotless clean shining bike and thinking God Damn I love that thing..For Sale.. Never.. I cant wait to go get it dirty.. I know Trikeholic, Kimmer, Big Otis, Chainsaw,Mr ATC, and all of you other Kawasaki and Yamaha guys that have taken apart a bike and totally restored it like new then you know what I mean. That thing is one bad machine. It looks so aggressive with the radiator scoops and gold wheels. Do you guys do this also or am I just a 3 wheeler weirdo???

Wow, and I thought that I was the only one that did that. It is making me crazy sitting here at college not being able to use my toys. I have been looking at pictures for the last 2 months just wanting to ride. Two more days till thanksgiving break! :-D :-D

mike, i can relate to that, used to do it with my 84, and now that i got my 85, half together, sitting up on a stand in the middle of my spare room, i just stare...i think its the most wonderful thing ever.....right now all it is is a frame with the rads/guards, swingarm, axle, brakes, left fork, tripple clamps, rear shock, airbox, wiring, and tailing.......all the other parts are scattered around the room just sitting there shiny as hell from me scrubbing them for so long, i took a tooth brush to every single nook and cranny on this bike...just waiting for all the parts to assemble.

and...saturday night and on the board....me and my friends have no car, and there is nothing to do in this small town, so im just sitting here browsing the web and polishing up my front brake caliper.

I went to a concert I didn't want to go to just because my buddy and his girlfriend were going so a girlfriend of mine wanted to go .......... I went to sleep at 5:45 last night. I woke up at 12:00 and went to my shop to do a little bit of work to an airboat to finish it. Then I took it for about a two hour ride from around 4:00 to 6:00 stopped and picked up some chicken wings and a Roast Beef Melt and cleaned the 3 wheeler. now I am going to take a hot shower eat a snack lay in bed till I fall asleep( it wont be long). I have to get up and go to my shop in the mourning and do a few thiungs and set up some work for my guys to do Monday mourning. Then tomorrow afternoon it will be either airboat ride or 250R ride. But either way I will be riding a fast machine with the wind in my hair and not a care in the world. Just so I will be able to get ready for the work week Thats why I am on the computer on a Saturday Night. I am 30 now and have done it all with the night life. Every Night a different bar a different club. Staying up all night feeling like hell all day, Pissing away a ton of cash. Now I Own a Business and would rather work on my boat or aircraft engine tomorrow with the money I saved. I guess it is just growing up>
