my 200x needs a carb rebuild BAD. HAAAARD to start and will not idle. whatever i have a kit on the way. ANYHOW it takes quite a few kicks to get it to fire. my kickstart seems to stop kinda short! always bouncing my foot hard. im new to my 200x so i have no idea. is it normal that they stop short like that?

take it easy on the kicker one of the 200x's weak points. sounds like it might be kicking back on compression. get the carb figured out, i would also check the valves clearance and timing. the last thing you want is to have to redo the kicker.

you can download free service manuals on the boards for free
the 200x is an awesome bike get the starting figured and you will have tons of fun

I agree with torque. Another route I recommend is to pick up a cheap knockoff carb from ebay and see if that solves your problems. If not, you don't lose a ton of money. Link below:

Also, do go easy on the kicker, they are mosdef the Achilles heel of the 200x

well there is my problem then lol. thanks for the info guys.

im kicking till it bottoms out. my foot slams hard as it stops. it doesnt backfire or even fire for that matter till like the 20th kick. thats why im kicking soo much and sooo hard. no more riding till i get the carb fixed tho.

thanks again!

:idea:when your 200x needs kicked over , try standing next to it faceing the back of the bike then hold the throttle ,while kicking with your right foot always works for me , less chance of it kicking back and slamming your shin .:wondering check the timing ,valve clearance , and spark ,try a new plug . good luck , ENJOY:cool:

i learned to never kick the 200x over while sitting or standing on it. simply stand next to it, look back at it, kick it that way. if your touching the ground from a full kick and it hasnt started somthings wrong. they should start around half kicks. if the motors built up and kicker gears are not back cut it will slip.

my kicker wont go to the ground. its stops a good inch or 2 before that. doesnt ever slip.
