Big Red 250 ES question????

I have my big red together, and I just have to put on the side mud guards onto the fenders.
What holds these side guards on other than the bolt at the end closest to the rear of the fenders?
Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Not much..little plastic tabs that don't hold well. I got my strips handed to me by the PO when I bought it. I snapped them on and then took it for a ride..one disappear on that 1st ride.

The remaining one I secured from the underside by drilling a small hole into the underside thru the fender skirt and them running a small self tapping screw in to lock it. The other side will never come off..

There are 6 little metal clips, 3 on each side. If you look at a schematic of the rear fender for an 85 BR find part #14. I think you can still get them from Honda.

I believe there was actually a recall on these because they were falling off for everyone. That's when the 6 metal clips hublake mentions came in to play in '86. Funny my '86 didn't have them anymore when I bought it :(
