Is there any chance this is a 1986 200x?? I say 1985..

Now owning my 2nd ATC200x doesn't by any means make me an expert..but I was pretty sure that pre-86 was round tube and 86-87 was square..no exceptions.

So I contacted this guy to politely suggest he is mistaken on the year, well he basically told me I was full of shlt and to piss off!!

I know there are some more knowledgeable 200x owners in here so I say..judges your ruling??

No doubt its a first gen. He could probably just look on the steering stem to find out or even run the numbers

85 for sure, 86/87 looked completely different, little interchanged on it also. I agree, this guy its even worth it, he might think its a 86 because he BOUGHT it in 86, how many had 87 350x/250r, that turned out to be 85 and 86's that were bought new in 87.

I invited him not to take my word for but to check himself that 10th digit of the VIN on the steering neck would be an 'F' and that the VIN on his paperwork would be completely different.

If he wasn't so far from me I'd go clear it up for him, but I don't think it's worth going any farther with..he's a goof and has clearly dug his heals in and closed his eyes to what's right in front of him.

Hey 'sp8twn', to jack my own thread a bit..I see you own a BW200. There is one in my end of the province and I was thinking of going to have a look at it.

How are they? I don't know a thing about them, I just thought it would be fun to shake it up since I have owned just about everything else.

Hi I'm selling a 200x, very nice looking bike and VERY fast. The main bike also comes with a parts bike ( first few pics), a closed face helmet, service manual that shows EVERYTHING on fixing the bike. Now it says 85, it is a year older now and he wants $200 more. This happens with snowmobiles alot, where they were first sold or registered the person put the date of the transaction not the build date. Just look at it this way, you would have an 86 200x that you could actally get parts cheaply for, lol..
