i set out today to clean and inspect parts from my project engine. after sandblasting and cleaning the cases i wanted to test fit trans and new crank only to find the new crank does not even come close to fitting in the left side bearing saddle 2mm to small. i planned on using this set of engine cases for my stroker build but some one has machined the timing chain saddle brg 2mm oversized. must have spun the brg in the case at some point.
i bought this engine off of ebay about a year ago it was from a flat track racer it had some pretty slick parts including the crank and flywheel that have had been shaved to save on weight.
well off to ebay to by another set of cases

The crank seems to have "shrunkin rod technology". That stinks but cases are easy to come by......
Should be sick when your done with it!!

What are the numbers on the bearing on the crank that came with those cases? It could be a fairly common one, leaving you with a spare set of cases to build another motor with

the brg on the cam chain side is 288c0783. the problem with the cases is that the machine work done on the left case was not done on center, the piston is not square to the top of the jug

So the question is, are both bearings the same bearing? If so, there were other engine cases that used the same sized bearings on both ends of the crank. You may not have bored out engine cases, but different engine cases than a 200x.

I ran into this with an xr200 case I was going to use to replace a busted 200x case. Everything else was the same but the crank bearing size.

were both brgs the same size? the right side brg id marked 63/28 that matches the # on the parts fiche on bike bandit for an xr200 and 200x. the right side is the lager brg and is marked 288c078b, the parts fiche only gives measurement 28x72x18. the out side dia measures 72mm

The 200x bearing that came out of the busted 200X case wouldn't fit in the smaller hole of the XR case. I think it was the right side that was the XR case because I remember it had the contact for the neutral safety switch.
