prayers are out for the lost souls.

Lots of kids around here see the world as a video game.

So sad.

Much better to get hurt a little bit a lot of times than one big one.
By the time I got out of H.S. (400 students), we had lost 32 kids
due to accidents.

Thanks for posting btw.

Not to be trite, but I'd be tempted to see if there was a recall on
stuck throttle or bad brake linkage.

ya, kinda seems the kid must have come out of that field hot on the throttle for sure!! looks like the skidds from the dump are atleast 100 feet or more!! Probably showing off a bit for the little lady!! Poor families!!

Yeah, check those recalls cause it can't be the operators fault, right?

Yet another reason why the parents should be aware of what their children are doing. In a tragedy like this don't blame the kids, if they didn't know they were doing something wrong its the parents fault. And i am a parent of three boys before i get flamed for that statement... But its true. Who would let their 16 year old take off on a quad and cross a highway?

Absolutely sickening. I cannot believe people "liked" the story on Facebook. I'm completely dumbfounded as to how disrespectful people can be. Have a little basic human compassion!

Before the blame game gets passed around. Maybe, just maybe, the parents had no idea that they were out on the bike. Did your parents know every step you took at age 16? How many of us that are older have instances that we can look back on and say, WOW how am I still alive after that? I know I have more than a few.

This just ruined my day. I can't imagine what the parents are going through. I hope it was quick and painless for the kids. Now my prayers are that no lawyers will ever get involved in this and cause a second needless tragidy for someone.

Very sad. It was prolly one of them cases where the kid just wasnt paying close enough attention, were all guilty of this sometimes even when we drive our cars on the highways. Personally I would have a hard time turning my kids loose on a Raptor at that age. I know how I was at that age and I wouldnt have trusted myself. If my parents wouldnt have stuck to there guns as good as they did I would have walked out of the dealer with the Raptor instead of the crappy Polaris Magnum I had at 16... but sadly I would have prolly been added to the list of unfortunate atv riders. Then again they could have just as well pulled out in front of a dump truck on a ATC 90 as well. Not the ATVs fault just a sad accident.

I agree 100%, I'm sick of everyone rushing to judgement and tossing blame around tike they know every little detail, whether right or wrong was being done, its still a tragic loss of life... did the throttle stick? Was he playing chicken with the truck trying to beat it? Was the girl hurt from an earlier accident and he was trying to get her home for help? Nobody knows the answer to those questions and nobody ever will, so why not have a little compassion instead of dragging the families through the mud before the bodies have even begun to cool. The fact is many of us have taken chances in our lives that we are lucky to have survived so unless you live in a bubble there is no room to judge unless you know the full facts of the incident.

I cant even imagine on that truck driver feels this morning. Thats just terrible, but I agree with most, it was probably a point of the operator not paying attention. My question in this whole situation is, why was a 12 yr old girl out on a 4 wheeler with a 16 yr old boy whom I assume is not a relative and was probably out without her parents permission?

That is something a parent should never have to go through!

i see lots of mention of the 16 yr old! when i was 16 my parents most of the time only thought they new what i was up too!! the 12 yr old on the other hand, not sure what to think about that! Obviously any normal thinking adult would not be kosher with their or anyone else's 12 yr old daughter hopping on the back of a powerful atv with a hormone raging 16 yr old boy!! family or not!! These kids have probably been on atv's a hundred times before! tragic accidents happen daily!!

This is just terrible! People are too quick to try to place blame in a situation like this, morn the lost and respect the machines we love so much. My thoughts go out to the families of those involved in this tradgedy

Things have changed, parents have changed; There are lots of parents who aren't raising their kids properly. IDK who's fault or who thought he had enough time to get out that trail but I'm certainly glad it wasn't on a 3 wheeler. I wish there family the best................

I have never seen a dump truck any of the places I ride at flying at full speed. I say it was the roads fault!

It's easy....STAY OFF THE ROADS!
