I was gonna say the same! I think I'm gonna have to break down and buy some for my 84 250R, unless someone can reproduce the west coast scoops or the actual 84 250R super scoops.

west coast all the way. but if it were me id use white scoops. if you good quadpit i think some guy can white ones on his and it looked way better. that westcoast craps to rare to beat up. if wonder what white or 2nd gen 200x scoops would looks like. years back people put 84/85 suzuki RM scoops on the air cooled R's, looked to fit the style also and they are all over ebay.

Thats really interesting. Do you have a pic of one with the Suzuki scoops? I'm not too sure on the white since there is no other white on the bike. Those are some really large scoops though, I'd really like to see them mounted. I think I'm likely just going to order the 200x super scoops for mine since they are larger than stock and readily available.

Well it looks like I'm going to be doing lots of posting in this thread, but I did say I liked it. lol.

I also found that DC Plastics is reproducing the 83/84 ATC250R super scoops! http://www.dcvmx.com/xcart/product.php?productid=20557
I'm pretty excited but 2 things are actually still leaning me towards the Maier 200X super scoops. One the Maier scoops are cheaper and two- the DC scoops are matte finish where the Maier are gloss. Hmmmmmmmm.
Oh and LOKBUTDONTTOUCH, those 200x scoops look great. I'd like to hear how easy the install went.

yea beat me to it but yeas DC plastics do make oem style fins for 40 bucks, heres super scoops on a old R. i like the RM scoops, but the bottom should be connected come how so it doesnt get ripped off. they will need painted aslo since only color is yellow.

I hope I'm not derailing this thread too bad but here are some original Maier super scoops. He doesn't say they are original Maier super scoops in this thread but he does state what they are in the readers rides section. I just ordered the DC plastics super scoops. I'll start my own thread once they are installed.

A member on a air cooled 250r site sent in his miere super scoops and a set of oem and had DC reproduce them.I like the Suzuki scoops I posted a pic a while ago of the trike above on the AIRFOOLERS site it was a different pic but same trike we where all wondering what they where from.

Super scoops for me. Not a big fan of an aluminum scoop. Be careful on bail out if you wreck ;) however, the westcoast's are really trick.

My vote is the super scoops... The westcoast ones look a bit redneck to me... (esp if they were diamond plate!)
