this a good upgrade for my stock motor? i got a 20mm carb kit and full exhaust and a cam from dratv not bearing style. im not sure what size intake and ext port sizes are on a factory head or if its better to go with a tbolt head? any help would be great thanks.

NOT REALLY,,, the best upgrade would be a xr70 head,, it has a bearing cam,, no more sliding metals better cam profiles too,

When I get around to a big bore on an ATC70 I'm going to run an XL SL or CT70 head. They have bigger valves than an ATC70. I'm also planning on an XL or SL cam. Those are the biggest factory cams. Dratv Even sell them as a performance cam.

what year xr70 head is the best? and what years xl or sl head? what the diff between the three trying to find the best cylinder head and staying honda and not arfter market unless thats better but if i stay with one of those heads what cam is best to run? and can i put a big bore cylinder in it also?

i just built a 95cc motor .. i used an xr70 head,, with the stock combustion chamber configuration,, it has a slight dome piston,, first pull i broke the rope!! but man does it run !!! the only reason you don't see 95cc kits ,, because you have to bore the cases,, which is an easy task if your apart anyway..i used a mild cam and am real happy with the way it runs. with all the different motors out there now,, your at a real disadvantage staying all honda,, its way more expensive to go that way and you still have less power,,, the xr head i have is off a 2002,,

I've got a 1971 SL70 that had a transmission problem. While it was split I bored the cases and went 95cc, I still don't have that back together though. Should run good. Its amazing the difference the 88cc kit makes over stock. The SL and XL already has a lot more power than the ATC stock though.
For whatever reason I'm not a real fan of the Chinese engines. I'd rather just build the Honda engine. I'm not real sold on the power thing either.
I've got a 2000 XR50R with a bunch of mods done by the PO and I have all the receipts. Its 110cc out of the original Honda engine, bigger carb, cam and FMF exhaust. Its still a 3 speed auto clutch and its dead even in a race with my buddy's 110cc Chinese pit bike and I weigh about 30lbs more than him.

My thing is I I do one of the Honda heads and throw a cam in it can I still use my stock crank and use a 88cc cyl and piston from dratv with one of those heads and what kind of head gasket would I need stock one for a Atc work or what? Also can I throw a striker crank in it or is that pushing it. Might even port the head if it worth it. Tryin to get an idea cuz I wanna do it to a case that isn't bored for a 95 cc
