View Full Version : Show off your 10 inch front tire and wheel combo's (updated 7/31)
I've got a 10" wheel coming from Xowner for my '85 and I'm looking to see what everyone is using. There have been several of these group buys so there has to be a good selection of tires out there that have been used by now. What are you running and what type of riding do you do? I did a search and didn't really come up with much so if you have a 10" wheel post them up so this can be used for future reference.

I'm plannning on a 22 x 7 x 10 Dunlop that comes OE on a Raptor and other Yamahas. My second choice would be the OE front from a 400ex / 450R. I actually don't need this wheel right now so it will probably be awhile.

Nicest tpc made period. True to the roots of honda. I got the chance to ride this one also and it is very fast.

I hate to be ignorant, by why are 10" rims such a rave?
oldskool83
07-01-2012, 08:32 PM
because no one makes 11" atv front tires in decent rubber anymore. most are 2ply tires and just plan crappy comparied to new atv tires.
I hate to be ignorant, by why are 10" rims such a rave? The selction of 10" tires is 3-4 times that of the stock 11" wheel. pretty much any modern sport quad front tire will work now instead of the 3 or 4 choices you had with the 11" wheel.

Kenda Klaw XCTim, are you running the 22 or 23 inch tire. I really like this one and the price isn't too awful bad compared to some of these tires.

I'm running a 22 inch tire . It appears to be almost if not the same height as my stock 250r tire. If you need I can measure the two so you could have a comparison .
I think you have made my mind up for me. Thanks man. BTW I'm gonna try and make the Sept. 8th St. Joes Ride. I have to work but I'm gonna see what I can do.

Great!!! Look forward to seeing you there. I hope to have my new 250r build done in time for the ride. Things are starting to come together.

If its anything like your other bikes I'm sure it will be stunning. I ordered the Kenda Klaw XC 22x7x10 and it was $74 shipped. I also ordered new fenders as well so I should be ready to go. I'm gonna try my damnedest to get there. Can't wait to get pics of the fenders and new wheel on it.

Check out this tire. Reminds me of the stock Dunlop a little bit.

Im not quite sure why everyone bags on the stock rubber:. I mean even if not the oem tread i still prefer 2ply tires on sport atvs. 4ply makes sense on utilities quads, espeacially 4x4s, but the heavier tires do nothing but rob power from sport atvs. The thick sidewalls also rob some of the natural cushion a softer 2ply tireprovides.
It is awesome that the 10inch rim opens up more tire choices.

As you can see by my above post, I'm totally with you on that. I love OE tires, especially Dunlops.

ya, this was with the icefest shoes on! is a cool tire, kinda square profile, performed well on the ice though!! not sure how it would be in the trails!

I am running some random 21 inch front tire. I think its a 'Duro' tire. Either way I found it on Rockymountain and i love it. rides great and gives the bike a much better look and stance than the factory tire/wheel combo. The stocker is HUGE in my opinion. This is more updated. BKM powder coated my wheel by the way, did an awesome job! Thansk again to BKM for the coating and to XOwner for the product in the first place

Didn't think about it until I got it on there. I put a little juke to the corners so no big deal. I just appreciate you sending them and I think they look great.

I'm sure there are better tires out there but I like them. Slide when you want and wont leave you stuck. However I would love to mount a set of fast trekkers up and see if they are as good as everyone raves about

Here is mine with my oldest son Wade (5) on it. Murfman gave me one hell of a smokin deal on it:beer Had to drill it out a bit but all is well now...Haven't been on a ride yet but I am sure it will perform just fine for my old azz.

I tried to catch all of them on that batch, They had little mix up on the lug size. They have a hub now and test fit them all before shipping to me.

just mouted this up on one of the xowner wheels. I searched for days, and still couldnt make up my mind, then I remember about this one I had laying in the basement. I got it with a set of ice racing tires from a 450r. This one was just collecting dust, so I took all the studs out and popped it on. Its a little square, so we will see how it handles. It looks sick though! also my custom ground front hub i just redid. waiting for some bearings and I will install it.

Old thread i looked up to show a guy the tire options, BUT This is not my wheel! My wheel arent made by douglus as you can clearly see the DWT label on it! My wheel do not require any hub mods, Just a small clearance on the caliper cooling fins on the 85-86 250r.
