I just ordered the DG chrome head pipe and silencer for my tri-z and i was wondering if anyone else has one? I was wondering what kind of gains this exhaust gives?
I don't have one...but be sure to tell us where it switches the power to when you get it.

My brother bought a DG for his 85 250R. I told him before he bought the pipe that Cobra was crap(sorry) but he would not listen. It was better than stock no doubt. But he still could not run with my R, so he sold it to my Nephew for a $100.00 2 months later(all he had was stock pipe so for $100.00 he got a deal chrome pipe silencer and all) Then he bought a FMF Fatty like I told him too in the first place and you would not believe the differance, he gave all I wanted and more with the FMF. Just goes to show ya one pipe mite give you a little gain were as another Quality pipe can make a night and day diff.

Unfortunately I can only get a DG pipe. Nobody else makes on for my 84 250R that I can find.

i have a dg front and rear pipe on my tri z, and it runs really strong, bottom is still awesome for trail riding(will pull in 3rd and 4th at low revs),but also seems to rev right out with good strong top end.
a good all round pipe i think. 8)

Different pipes have different effects on different mahines for sure. Cobra 2 stroke pipes used to be considered budget replacments. I got one for my TriZ, when mine rotted out, and the difference between it and stock were unnoticeable. (They dont make them now). It has a DG on it now, and there was noticeable gain at low end and mid range. My Quad-z has a White Brothers pipe, also no longer made, and it has a similar powerband.

does the new pipe come with a new donut? should i use silicone on the new pipe? my stock exhaust has a new donut and it leaks like a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro
Donut? you mean gasket? And leakage is plenty normal on a 2-stroke. I wouldn't worry about it.
And no, don't use silicone. All that crap does is makes a big mess.

I have an 83 r that I put a dg pipe and silencer on. It added A Lot for top end power once it hit the power band. It was well worth the money for me. Would probably work about the same for a tri-z.

try loosening the front pipe ( not undoing it completely) see if thst helps the holes line up, then if you get the bolts started nip them up.

mine has a hole drilled in the frame also, i guess you just have to live with it. My old 200x had to have some words thrown at it before it lined up but my Z doesnt look like it will at all without making your own holes
