Engine locked up = one helluva bargaining chip. Average price on these is 1500. I'd offer 400 or less cause right now its a paperweight lol.

if there is no interest ,who knows you may get it for 100.00 When is the auction? let us know what it sells for.

If its a typical auction then a bid would be synonymous with an offer. In any case the highest bid/offer I would go is 400.

Yep, you are safe at 400. Heck even go as high as 500 if you want it that bad. You can buy a running engine off ebay for 500 and throw it in.

^^^^^^^^^^^^These guys have it nailed ^^^^^^^^^^^^

Make sure you figure in a total motor rebuild! As you have no Idea if its the top end bottom end or both!

As a former snowmobile auction attendee from Michigan...It depends on where the bidding starts. It's up to the auctioneer. He may just start at a $1 and go from there....he may start really high (of what HE thinks is a good price) and see who bites/bids.

Well I got the Tri Z!!! I decided to go bid up to $500 and got it for 425 plus 10% sales tax so altogether it came to 493.00 got it home yesterday but usually when something is froze up you think maybe it got too hot of something and seized the piston well opened up the air box and found this 150611 150612 then i took the air box off and saw the carb 150613 :( theb I took the exahust off and seen the piston and it was perfect no scoreing at all but then I took off the carb boot then the reeds and then I saw this 150614 so it looks like something in the crank either the crank bearings or the connecting rod bearing it locked up good from the dam mice piss  probably looking at 150-200 bucks to fix it but once its all done it will be a brand new motor :)

I'd say you made out like a bandit. And yes, it would be mice defecation that would cause the barnacle build up on the carburetor port and the rod. Darn little pests. I still think you got a great deal and in one weekend you can have a great bike!

Have fun!

P.S. You may want to have a look in the cases to ensure there's no mice skeletons floating around...LOL

I dunno what they for for there, but best offer I had was $925 for mine that is in similar condition, but runs and everything works. I can't see spending more than 500 for a non
runner. I'm happy i opted to not take the deal, I took it out the next day and decided I'm not gonna sell it anytime soon. Unless someone offers me $1,500+ hehe.

Nice deal on the Z.

Having said that....That is absolutely the worse connecting rod I have ever seen.

I have a couple nice cranks. Give me a hollar if you want to buy one.
