350x front end on 200x question

so i put a 350x front end on my 200x. my question is how can i stop the top bearing cup in the steering stem from coming loose when i turn. am i using the wrong size bearings in there? or what. this has me pretty confused and its a pain to tighten every time i ride the darn thing. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

if memory serves me correctly the 350x has bigger ball bearings . im not sure if the 350x cup ( that holds the bearings in will fit your frame ? what did u use ? and did u use the lock washer on it that u use a screwdriver to flip the tabs up to keep the nut from loosening ??

i think i used the 350 cup, but i know for a fact it has the smaller bearings in it. that could be the problem? and the tab washer, does that go on the external nut in between the bar clamps?

Hate to admit it but I've made the same swap 2-3 years ago but I don't remember. Sounds like you've forgotten the large threaded washer (correct term??) which is directly over the bearing and holds it in place.
Once that is tightened you replace the top triple clamp and then the crown nut on top of that. The tabbed washer goes between the triple clamp and the crown nut.

Mine has never come loose, so I think something is missing on yours.

IDK what stem fits what trike unless I just did it. Kinda like the 200X being a bolt on front end however you need to change the steering stops.....

That 1st nut is where you set your forks and bearings free from play. Then you pop on the triples and it may need to be loosened to allow for the left and right turn smooth.

Many/many/many times I find slightly bent forks that once you set that "special" nut, you tighten the triple clamps and things are no longer smooth. Set to loose and they are sloppy.

You may have to dink around with it ; Such as setting it all and getting smooth upper and lower triple clamps.

THEN, you slide in the 90% bent upper fork tubes and you'll find you need to back off that top adjusting nut a hair and continue it until it's smooth and has no play..........
