Was anybody ever able to get back in touch with the guy on here that was producing the plastic swingarm bushings? They are supposed to replace the bearings and metal bushings on the swingarm where the the bolt goes through. I know there was a guy on here that used to make them, but by time I was looking for some he was MIA. If not, does anybody else make these? I will gladly pay just about whatever somebody wants lol. They would save me a heck of a lot of time and moneywith my 84 250r restoration.

Somebody really should start making these. I bet they could make a killing.

Thanks, I didn't even know that place was on here lol. But... I only see the ones for the 200x, 350x, 85/87 250r, and the 88/89 250r Fourtrx. Will any of these interchange with my 84 250r? Also, my stock swingarm has a gap where the motor goes. Would I have to buy two sets?

Thanks for any help ya'll can offer.

I'm sure a guy with a lathe will make them.

UHMW or - Ultra High Molecular Weight or Delrin which is oil impregnated and green.

Both of which are FANTASTIC alternatives :D

I dont think any of those wil interchange with the 84R. There used to be some available, but not sure why they are not listed in the store. I have seen delrin in black and white also, as well as green. I work in a CNC shop as a operator. My supervisor is a master at the profession, and I have brought up the topic of swingarm bushings to him in the past, and told him how much they are going for. He thinks that price is cheap, and he wouldnt be interested in making them for that amount. We have two CNC lathes, and they are both sitting there collecting dust. We could make hundreds of these in a day, and have the material, but I just dont think I can talk him into it. Bummer. ---Jon.

I don't have an 83 or 84 250R....
Are the bushings you are talking about the inner and outer ones on either side of the swingarm (I was looking at the micro fiche)

If someone can get me the dimensions, or maybe a NOS undamaged one, I might be willing to try making a set. Free time to make them would be the problem.
I have a small lathe in my garage and I made shock bushings, swing arm bushings, and a chain roller for a Polaris 4 wheeler I rebuilt. The chain roller protects the swing arm bolt and nut on the chain side.

PM sent. Yes those are the ones. I have the two inner ones that I removed from the swingarm- they have some pitting, but still retain their original shape. The outer ones are proving a little more difficult to remove, but they should all be the same. I can mail them to you and you can keep them. If I can't find the plastic ones, then I am just gonna go with a whole new swingarm anways. Let me know a mailing address.

Thanks for the offer. And as I said in the email, you can take your time. I just need a hot lead on some, but I ain't in a super hurry.

Looks like the outer ones are a bit longer on the end that goes in the swing arm. Could you knock them out with a deep socket, a socket on an extension, or a piece of pipe the same diameter or really close to the same diameter?

ETA: PM replied to.

Yea, they are a little longer, but I think it is just because you that is the side where the needle bearings go. I think they are the same dimensions other than that though. I have tried everything to get them out and they ain't budging. I am gonna take them to a machine shop today and see what they can do.
