'orange peel' condition is a paint defect..your plastics have been painted previously.

time for a bit of elbow grease to stripe the old paint off and see the condition of the original plastic underneath, then decide whether to repaint with some decent plastic paint or clean down to the orginal plastic using some of the restoration methods others have used and detailed on other threads..

search a few threads..lots of info out there.

Photos? This would help us a lot in determining what to do.

I use the razor blade but then jump to the second link for the sanding and polishing. just my two cents.

I bladed then wet sanded(with mutiple grits) a tri z fender but when it came time to polish it, it didnt work out so well. It seems that it has such a low melting point that it is impossible to buff to a shine. yamaha is the only oem trouble I have had an issue polishing. good luck to you.

I had the exact problem on my tri-z fenders, I gave up on the shine for the time being and never got back to it yet...

I took the lazy road since I wasn't concerned about the 'new fender' look..

Wet sanded to remove the paint, then spray bombed with Krylon for plastic same colour as OEM..looks 100% better. And if it chips here and there it won't look like crap!
