Alright, I changed this post a little bit. Decided on a size for my 81 ATC 200- but, should I get the Dirt Devil II to go on the front to match my rears or should I just go with a new Duro Knobby tire. I am really just worried about the handling with a Dirt Devil on the front. The knobby is what I have now and from what I have heard the front tire doesn't really matter as much as far as going through mud.

I guess what I am asking- will the Dirt Devil II affect handling and will it give me that much more traction on the front? Or does it really not matter and I should just save the $30?

Thanks.

My bad- it is on an 81 ATC 200. Edited my initial post to include that.

From my experience, you can't go wrong with a knobby on the front of an ATC. The Dirt Devil may tend to push in deep snow, but that is only a guess.

Tires are like shoes..what one person likes another doesn't.

The front tire does matter for steering, alot..the knobby tires side slip. Anyone who has ever ridden in a slippery trail has had a near miss or two with a tree because the front tire didn't bite in and steer them where they wanted to go.

Definitely make a difference..since I pulled the knobby from my SX and installed a good cross-tread tire the slippery surface handling has gone way up!!

I liked it so much I did a similar on my Big Red!

Thank ya'll for the input. I saved on some cash by getting the knobby, but I definitely wanted to go with something better. I like the look of those trikes doug. I really just couldn't get over how much bigger my new rear tires are compared to the ones I took off. They were the same size, but just looked huge. I was worried about putting one on the front and drastically decreasing handleability. I may end up getting a better one down the line.

I appreciate it.
