1972/73 atc 90 voltage

Hi...I just picked this atc up with no wiring. I am starting to see if I can get spark. I do not have any voltage from the generator? Behind the pull cord. Should I be able to read voltage from there?

6 volt system both wires should have power. Black is ignition to coil yellow is light circut
