Hey all,
I did a little searching on the forums and didn't come up with anything so here's my question.
...
What is the best plastic paint made? I need to paint my rear 200x racing fenders, so I need a strong and flexible paint for plastic.

Also, would you recommend that I use a a clear coat as well?

Thanks in advance!

Did the old paint come off ok?

Oh yeah, the brake fluid worked like a charm. I cut the one side to match and rounded off the sharp edges. Looks pretty good. Now I need to sand primer and paint

Look at fire1's build where he painted his tank. It turned out slick.

How I did mine. Just stay away from it with a powerwasher.

I like the Krylon Fusion too. No need to prime. Don't have to sand either unless the part is real rough. Their reds and blues match up extremely well with Honda's colors too. As far as plastics go, I can't see myself using anything else. Does take a few coats, but it's relatively cheap.

Paint+plastic=mess.

Paint+plastic=mess.Normally I would agree 100%, but he is wanting a certain color scheme and has a set of the Low Profile 200x fenders that are next to impossible to find. The only problem is they are the wrong color so his options are somewhat limited. I think with the limited use the bike will see they should look fine until he can find a fiberglass set like he has been looking for.

Bryan is 100% correct on this one. I have no other choice. I need the fenders white.

Have you considered vinyl wrap ?

Hmm, no I haven't. Where would one procure something like that? Have you had good luck with it?

is this the type of stuff you are referring to?

Yup, thats the stuff. Never used it myself, but I know many that have with great results. I'm told 3M brand is the best, just about anywhere that does printed graphics for vehicles will have it or many sites on the internet sell it. I'm planning on doing my own trikes with it as I have never had paint hold up for more than a year. They do make clear vinyl too to be used as "clear coat" basically. Check out Youtube for install instructions looks pretty easy to do.

Might want to consider it especially since you are going white. White is a PITA to paint on anything without having to use 10 coats to eliminate show through.

Only downside I can really think of is it's probably harder to do touch ups later on.

I think this is a pretty cool idea, I really appreciate you suggesting it. This may be the route I go, just need some more information gathering first.

Thanks again!
