250r engine numbers

Just picked up a 85 250r and wondering if the frame and engine vins are supposed to match. The last 6 on my frame are 407614 and the engine numbers are 2407850. Does this mean the motor was swapped? Thanks

No, they are not supposed to match. The frame has a VIN, the engine has a serial number.
