I purchased a front fender from them. When it arrived it was about 4 inches to short up front. I emailed them and they asked if I would send in my OEM white fender to update their mold. I agreed. When they sent back my fender they included another new fender which was a much better product closer to OEM. Not a perfect fender but not bad when on a budget or in the need of a cool color.

I bought a set of 83/84 250R super scoops from them. I can't complain. I'm thinking about a full set of TT500 plastic as well. Sucks their stuff is Matte though. I wonder how Maier is making shiney plastic now.

I wonder if they can make the increasingly hard to get headlight housing for the z?

They couldn't do a 350x headlight housing so I'm gonna say no.

They don't, I've asked. It's to complex for the type of vacuum system they use. They also won't do rear fenders because their equipment is to small for that large of a piece.

I made another thread on these guys but they do injection molding just like the OE parts were made. I don't know if they are interested in making any other parts though. http://thevintagespoke.com/hello.php
I had a Z headlight Shell at Maier for about 5 years when I had Molds Made back in 07-08 for the Airbox and Rad shrouds, which we also do sell in shiny colors that have a smooth finish..I think at the time, that was the first availability of new shrouds and airbox covers offered for reproduction.
I was going to have the headlights casted in Matching colors for all the custom Z plastics that have been re-popped since 07 through Maier.
There was not enough interest in the mold for the cost of the part. At the time I think we were going to need 25 shells at the price of about 65- 80$ per piece..They were going to have to have a bracket riveted to the shell to hold the lenses, and people did not want to deal with 2 small rivets showing on the product. So we dumped the idea.
To make these shells vacuum formed, they will need a secondary attachment bracket to mount the lenses. Unless someone can coerce Yamaha into injection molding them again..

That doesn't sound half bad. I know I'd pay $65 to $80 for a shiney white 350x headlight shell with 2 rivets showing. I'd probably buy several to help with the minimum order.
It is possible for a company to start making a part again. I know Honda stopped making Pilot front fenders but the demand was so high so they started making them again.
True..Considering list price on a Maier 250R shell is about 54 bucks, another 20-30 for a dual lighted shell with much more detail is not that expensive.
