Best way to restore/Dye plastics?

Anyone have an tricks to restoring faded plastics? Looking to restore OEM 85' 250r tank, shrouds and a early maier front fender. Tank has some sun bleaching, white spots. Front fender and shrouds are discoloured and faded.

Im thinking 400 grit, 600 grit 1200 2000? Anything else I could do?
