185 Honda choke ?

I was playing around with the carb and noticed I was using the choke wrong. When it up it runs ok in the middle it work like it should but when I put it down it dies . That not right. Y would it work like this. Or may be I'm wrong. But from what I read in the manual that backwards. But the idle cut out 3/4 of it reved. Any thoughts?

You have dirty clogged jets and its running off the choke circuit in order to stay running !

Brand new carb but will try cleaning jets any way

Oh that makes since now !!! If its one of those knock off china carbs the jetting is OFF . If the body of the carb looks the same as your old OEM carb put your old carb jets in the new one .

That the problem some one stole the old jet out of the old carb.
