So, I was looking through the garage and I have a few older Honda bikes. one is an 89 CRM250 MK1. I was wondering, Why do 3 wheelers always have the short, fat front tire and not a taller narrow tire like 2 wheelers do?

I was thinking the tall narrow spoked rim probably wouldnt take the sideload generated when turning a trike and would fold in half, but has anyone tried it? i really don't

think the stock front end is much heavier on a trike then on a 2 wheeler, and it looks like my CRM front might fit the sx.

Because a dirtbike wheel and tire would look like a ball of crap.
Also, sport trikes have skinny and tall tires.

I've no problem riding a ball of crap. long as its fun.

The shorter, fatter tires won't dig into the surface as much. They'll "float" on top of loose sand and dirt better. Also, remember back in the day there was no suspension, so the fat chubby tires were all you had to soak up the bumps.

I think I'm going to try a frankentrike with my spare parts. I'll let me fat chubby midsection soak up all the bumps.
