Honda 200M questions

Hi,
nathan Lovern here. My brother in Dunkirk gave me a honda 200M i went this weekend and picked it up. LONNNG trip :0(. back in Va now and i was wondering about the 200M i have. Its shaft drive with a sub tranny on side that has high,low and reverse. I never kner a 200M to have this. Anyone else know what i have? I havent had time to get the ID number off yet. Somebody camo ed the WHOLE thing even tires. UGGG cant afford to ever put it back to original. It runs,smokes a bit. Just needs TLC.

The 1984 200ES Big Red matches your description. I'm not aware if the 200M had the high/low/reverse subtrans, but FOR SURE, the 1984 200ES big red is exactly what you described: shaft drive and the sub tranny like you describe. For reference, the 1983 model was the 200E big red, but was a chain drive (without reverse) and the 85 250ES Big Red is a completely different animal altogether.
