Hope for the best possible outcome for the people effected by the hurricane. I can't believe you all have to go through this again....it wasn't too long ago that the area was devistated. I have no idea what it's like from AZ but I'm wishing the best and a speedy recovery.

Rivers flood, oceans have hurricanes, California has earthquakes, islands have volcanoes, and the mountains have bears, blizzards, and avalanches. These are things that should be known when choosing to live in a certain area and one should not be surprised when these natural disasters occur.

I would love to live by an ocean more than anything on earth but there are two things stopping me. Money and hurricanes and even if I had the money the hurricanes would still keep me from doing it.

Wish all affected by Isaac a speedy recovery. As i have lived on the coast all my life now (43 years) and know all to well the affects to hurricanes. Rita hit us pretty hard but survived, Ike wasnt so successful pretty much took the roof off our home. Can't complain to much though ended up with a new home a year later. All's is good now, we just missed Isaac by the skin of our teeth.

The worst we got here in Pensacola was wind and high water. Didn't get much rain.

I live in southwest MS and it hit us pretty hard, but this one fizzled out compared to Katrina. The wind was bad, but that was about it. I don't think this one made it to Cat 2 whereas Katrina was a Cat 5. We made it through just fine. Have been without power for 2 days now and it may take another couple to get it back on. But my youngins' are safe and no trees fell on my house. And I got 3 days off of work. Combine that with the three day weekend and that's almost a whole week. Plus I'm on salary, so it is really good lol. Lucky for my family, my Mom didn't lose power so we have been at her house.

@bkm- Man if you really wanted to live by the ocean I would say go for it. I'm more of a lake and river guy myself, but hurricanes really ain't that bad. I mean you've got trees that fall and it may flood, but you can see it coming from days away. I would be much more worried about the tornadoes, avalanches, forest fires, and earthquakes that other places get. I think that hurricanes are the lesser of all those evils. If you've got an I.Q. above retard level with enough sense to leave if you live in flood zone and money to afford insurance then it's all good. I live right on the MS river, but my city is up on a bluff so we don't have to worry about flooding.

Anyways, I do hope others fared as well as I did. We got lucky this time. Katrina was a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro compared to Isaac.
