9X9 or 9X8 on my 250r

Should I go with 9X9 or 9X8 rear rims on my 84 250r? I'm using the 400ex hubs. I found a really good deal on some 9X9's with a 3/6 offset. Just wondering if there were any positive or negatives with using the 9X9 and if those rims combined with my 400ex hubs would be too wide for my axle.
