....and it turns out 39 may be to old to learn how to drag race, i got killed out there:lol:. in my defense, the class i was in was me, four banshees, and one warrior. and i never got a chance to race the warrior, who i maybe could have beaten. oh well, i had a good time and that's all i was shooting for. maybe next time...

I got beat in Richland center. We thought it was for fun the way it was promoted. I was about the only one without a wheelie bar.

Sounds like what happened to me a few weeks back at dirt country. I was in a class full of fuel injected 450's. Not only did they have me in displacemnet, it's tough to bring a trike out of the hole without a wheelie bar.

I don't think age would affect drag racing too much, its not that physically demanding. Just need to practice on your launches. If you would have raced the Warrior you would have distroyed it. They are a turd and a half. The most important part is you showed up on a trike and reminded people that they are still out there. Now go practice and go back and put the spank down!:D

lol yeah mostly got beat on the launch. i practiced a bunch, but my yard is pretty sandy and the track was pretty sticky clay, a lot grippier and i kept doing wheelies:lol:. also just on my stock trail bike, a lot of the others seemed to be set up better for drag racing.

to be honest, there wasn't many hondas there, and those were getting spanked by yamahas:D

ratchet straps drop the front and rear down low for a good launch, i have always come otu of the hole hard and a paper plate int he front wheel helps witht he lazer to avoid getting red lighted lol

yeah saw some guys with the ratchet straps. this set up just had a bungee across the start line that would realease when the light went green. if you hit the bungee, it would dq you.

If your wanting to drag and launch...Mosh has a +4" HRR for a Tri-Z for sale $400 shipped. It's very well made, heck he might even have the chain for it still. It would be a simple swap when heading to the drags.

Your ability to learn to drag race is not determined by how many people you beat, but by how much you improve each time you do it.

thanks for the offer, but if i go that route i will make one at work. i was also thinking an adjustable dog bone link so ride height is ajustable. i've got almost another whole bike's worth of parts, been thinking of building a dragger for a while. also studying your 490z build some :naughty:

oh brapp that's because you just don't know how to ride a Yamaha!
what do you have done to your z and how were you launching it? i was neck and neck with a shee and trx 450 in the sand going up hill. i started in 2 gear and help around 50-75% throttle and shot out of the hole with knobbies.
