I'm contemplating driving out. I need 3 other people to go with me to make it financialy viable. Leaving friday evening, long hauling it for 42 hours driving in shifts. Hoepfully there by sunday evening, ride monday-friday afternoon. Rollout and back home by sunday evening.

No hot showers in Gordons Well, but there is a Holiday Inn Express about 20 minutes east of the dunes. They have bathrooms in the camping area that are "decent" You can camp in a van if you like but have to have a permit. Looks like the Texas ATV registration is recognized in Cali, or you could get an out of state permit. Other than that the camping area is a large sand flat.

mr.clean,what day are you planning to head out? if I do sunday to sunday I will arrive in phoenix at 1:45 pm and the return flight leaves Phoenix at 2:45 pm or a red eye at 1130 pm.I soppose if I took the red eye home I could take a bus from yuma to phoenix if I needed to. The flights I found going into yuma are 250-300.00 more and don't arrive until 1030 pm and depart at 6am and those time just don't seem very practical not to mention on the return a 14hr layover in NYC with an airport change :wondering the connecting flight leaves from Newark NJ wtf

tim I got a 20 gal water tank and a few solar bag's ... works pretty good..portable shower with a rubber floor.. its surprisingly warm water as the sun is going down and cooling off...

Hey Gus, its pretty much a free for all. There will be multiple groups going out at will. Night rides, day rides, whenever you can assemble a group to go out. On gas, how long will you be there? Different riders burn different amounts of fuel....... And worse case scenario, gas stations are not far off.

wish i could say the same went to change my clutches in the R thinking that they went bad but turns out that the drain plug fell out and i ran it a couple hundred feet with out oil on top of a complete rebuild with oem seals and bearings my luck lol. so i order a complete clutch set thinking and hoping that the R will hold up on this trip....

Holy trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro what a night in flagstaff.. ICE!!!!! We turned and headed south on 17 looks like we will be early to the dunes... it was too dangerous to go up the mt to the grand caynon! Were all safe and were 5 hrs from the dunes... at the super 8.... all bikes are safe... safe travels people!

If you pull in strait along the old acquduct... were on the left after motorcoach with two flags.... not in as far as last year.. the camp next to us is flying AZ flags and has a neon light that changes color at night.... see ya soon
