K&n air filter life?

Well, just scored a 350x and the k&n air filter looks BAD. I was gonna trash it but remembered they last a very long time. I am thinking bout cleaning it up, oiling it and keep using it.
Opinions?

Can you post a photo? I've used K&N's that look a little rough but the main thing is you need to make sure that there are no holes where unfiltered air can get through.

Wash in warm soapy water, let air dry, and apply K&N filter oil as directed.

Agree with Bslama on checking for holes.
