Im curious to see if anybody would be interested in aluminum rear rims for BW 200's. I have talked to Xowner and we are trying to get the ball rolling on this and would like to a group buy like the 10in 3wheeler front rims. It has worked out good on those so we thought this mite pan out. We arnt sure on price yet and I know thats the bottom line when it comes down to it. What do youy guys think? Any interest?

kiser,
I had the same idea when I saw the threads for the 10" front. I didn't think that anyone else would be interested so I bought a couple of these:

(http://http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h388/MisterBigWheel/DSC01221.jpg)They are ITP T9s with 5+5 offset and a 115 pattern. The center will have to be opened to let the hub pass through and the 125 pattern will need to be drilled. These and one Douglas wheel are the only rims that I could find with zero offset in any size.
I'm sending them to a machinist next week and hope that they are useable.
I would be interested in a wheel that was built specifically for the BW though.

Mr. BigWheel

I'm in, depending on if the price isn't too steep. Keep us updated.

The rims are at the machinist's shop. Hopefully, I'll have something worth reporting soon.
Can Xowner get 12" rims fabricated or is only a 10" available. If we had a 12" wheel fabricated, that would allow the choice of just about any tire manufactured, since that seems to be the most popular atv size.
Any thoughts?

He can get any size rim made as far as I know. I hadnt thought about getting a different size other than stock...not a bad idea though! 12'' tires are alot easier to get! Ill check with him and see what he thinks. Thanks for the idea Mr Big Wheel! Hope your wheel turns out good. Keep us posted on your progress and ill keep you guys posted on what we come up with.

The ITP 589 has been a tire that I have coveted for a long time. At least since the Goodyear Rawhide ATT III was discontinued. Of course, it only comes in a 12" or larger size. If there is a way to do a 12" wheel for the BW, I'm all in.
There are a lot of people who don't see the need to run carbide studs in their tires, so I'm not sure if there will be sufficient interest in such a part.
The machinist has the 10" rim and said that it will be completed before the week's end. I'll keep you updated with the results.

Mr. BigWheel
If you got a twelve i'd recommend the maxxis bighorn. I have them on my rokon and absolutely love them

The Maxxis Bighorns are great tires in my book for all around use .

I'd be down for aluminum wheels for a TR200. Pretty sure a couple 200X fronts will do fine.

As for those tire selections I personly wouldn't want those tires on a 2wheels bike cause the stright lugs will cause it to slide out when turning while leaning the bike . But thats my .02c And as for the 12'' rim I think that would take some of the suspension out of the bike the stock suspension isn't that good and the taller side walls help to absorb some the bumps. As for the aluminum rims I'm in for some stock size ones

My 10" wheel has shown up and I'll have to get busy installing it on the 350.

It's not elegant but there's a lot more 10" tires out there than there are 9"

Thats not the case at all, those tires don't slip no matter what part is on the ground.
