Putting rear brakes onto a 84 200s. The brake cam on the right is the one from this trike. It has the spring on the inside of the backing plate with 1 end of the spring inserted into the cam. It also has a thicker flange (inside mating surface to backing plate) Is this the correct one? Al the others I've done work on are like the one on the left with the spring on the outside of the backing plate.:wondering Did this change on later years? Help me out here guys.

The manual shows it on the outside between the wear indicator and the arm. Ref; page 12-13 of the Honda manual.

I tried downloading the manual from oscarmeyer but it only went so far and stopped. Don't know why never had problem with others.Anyway I checked out the online parts stores and thats the way they showed as well. It binds and won't release when you pull the brake plus it restricts how far the cam turns because of the spring tension i suppose and does not give it enough braking pressure to stop it.
I have an 85 rear housing I could check if I could get the brake cover off. PO "sealed" it with some sort of silicone and I can't get it off. What can I use to dissolve that so I can get that off to see whats inside?
